  Anahita 1.6 Embryo Is Released

  Last weekend we spent 26 hours to update Anahitapolis with the Anahita 1.6 codebase. After a week of receiving bug reports from the premium tribe members and fixing issues we now have packages available to the premium tribe to download and install for evaluation purpose.

  This update also includes Embryo releases for 7 of our flagship social apps: Groups, Discussions, Photos, Todos, Pages, Subscriptions, and Connect. A number of supporting extensions and plugins have also been updated for the 1.6 release. All the updated apps and extensions are now being used on our website.

  The Anahita Premium Tribe members have been great help to us with their bug reports, feedbacks, encouraging words, and most important of all their patience. Thank you folks, you guys are incredible!

  Aiming for the Anahita 1.7 Birth release

  Anahita 1.6 is a transition release from 1.5 to 1.7 which means we are now officially aiming for the Anahita 1.7 Birth release. Anahita 1.6 and 1.7 provide a much leaner and more powerful API and framework for developing social networking applications. That means you can build your social networking projects in less time and achieve higher performance speed while building on a solid and correct infrastructure. If you are a startup, that means you get reach your goals in a lot less time and save hundreds of hours worth of resources.

  Anahitapolis Is Now Powered by Anahita 1.6 

  

  Celebration after 26 hours of work and no sleep

  Afte a none-stop 26 hour work shift that started from Sunday afternoon and lasted till Monday afternoon we have migrated the Anahitapolis.com website to use the most recent revision of Anahita 1.6 codebase. That also means that we have an Embryo release to announce sometime soon.

  This release includes Anahita and 5 social apps. We have been working on this release for the past 4 months and couldn’t wait to see the priceless reaction of Anahita tribe members after updating Anahitapolis.com using the new code.

  Anahita 1.6 is a transition release with a lot of new improvements in the core and as soon as it is stable, it will be available as the Anahita 1.7 Birth release. It is part of our process to use the code ourselves for a while before distributing a Birth release. During the last 48 hours we have received many  valuable tips and bug reports from the Anahita tribe members and we have been busy with fixing bugs and polishing the code. We will be continuing this process until we feel confident that the code is stable and ready to be distributed to the Anahita tribe members. We will also be providing migration script and code for those who will be updating from Anahita 1.5 to 1.7 release. Having a Birth release could take several weeks.

  We also did an Anahita hangout last Friday which was supposed to be published as a podcast 2 days ago and I haven’t had the chance yet since we have been so busy with updating and migrating our web site. I am going to finish editing the recorded hangout today and publish it for you as soon as I can.

  We also heard another very good news this week which isn’t really Anahita related, but I still would like to share it with you. The folks from the Beyounic team have secured about 350K seed capital for their startup. The Beyounic team has been on of the early supporters of the Anahita project and First Tribe members. We would like to congratulate this important event to them and wish them the best on their venture. These are the same folks who brought you the Ohanah event app for the Joomla. You should go and congratulate them on twitter @beyounic

  Anahita ™ Todos has replaced Anahita ™ Projects 

  

  How do we find time to enjoy our cappuccinos? we use Anahita ™ Todos!

  We have successfully started using the Anahita ™ Todos social app on Anahitapolis website for managing todos and milestones in all of our projects. There is also an Embryo release package available for download. We are going to use this social app for a while on the Anahitapolis.com and pretty soon there will be Birth release available to you once we find it stable enough to be used on your live social networks.

  Anahita ™ Todos is replacing the Anahita ™ Projects which was initially developed as the project management social app for Anahita and we have been using it since Nov. 2010 to manage about 10 projects on Anahitapolis.com

  Anahita ™ Projects was basically a custom groups with features to handle to-do items, to-do lists, and milestones. Back then we thought this app would evolve and specialize as a project management tool. After several months of using it, we realized that we were maintaining two social apps, Anahita Groups and Projects, which were mostly identical in terms of providing groups functionality. There was no point in maintaining two codebase with mostly similar aspects! So a better approach was to instead improve the Anahita ™ Groups app and then develop the Anahita ™ Todos which is now installable on both groups and people profiles.

  There is always such a grace in simplicity!

  I really would like to write more about how projects are managed in Anahitapolis community. A lot of people still wonder how 2 people get to manage and develop 10 projects and still find free time to enjoy their cappuccinos! That’s because solutions built on a social networking engine such as Anahita™ put your productivity and communication on steroids or shall I say on good wholesome caffeine!
